MISS PANJABAN - 1994
Charming damsel Wimpy Parmar hailing from Hoshiarpur, Punjab won the coveted title of Miss PANJABAN-94 held on 1st October 1994 at Ludhiana.
She dazzled everyone with her enthralling dance, as she is a classical dancer par excellence. Her beautiful eyes were the main attraction, which added to her mystifying beauty. She danced to the tune of the song Multani Kangan Puade Ve, Poore Karde Vadesung by famous Pakistani singer Mushrat Nazir. The song has since become a number and is hummed by everyone irrespective of her age after being choreographed in this event.
After winning the prestigious award she was invited by Doordarshan to perform along with the famous singer HANS RAJ HANS on New Year eve of 1994. This title gave her career a winning boost and soon she was invited to visit World Festival in China, where she proudly represented India and its glorious Punjabi Culture. The Governor of Punjab honoured her on Republic Day.
Lovely and lively Ranpinder Sandhu of Ludhiana bagged the 1st. Runner up title. She danced to the tune of the song "Ghund Vich Nahin Lukde Sajjna Nain Kuware". After receiving wide acclaim for her beauty and talent she was consequently chosen to be a part of aristocratic Indian family settled in America as their adorable Bride.
Sanjeevani Beri, 5'6"tall was awarded with the distinct recognition of being the second runner up.
World Famous Punjabi folk singer Mrs. Jagmohan Kaur was awarded "Malka-e-Tarannum" for her contribution to Punjabi music and culture.
