Chahal hailing from Ludhiana bagged the coveted title of Miss
PANJABAN-96 held on 27th January 1996 . A postgraduate in journalism,
she was crowned with a pure Gold Saggiphul amongst sixteen marvellous
contenders for the contest. Her folk dance performance along with her
spirits of a fiery Punjaban left the audience gasping for breath. |
| She charmed everyone with her dance through the
Punjabi song "Nachan Main Ludhiane, Meri Dhamak Jalandhar Paindi",
sung by famous folk singer Jagmohan Kaur. She visited South African
Countries as Cultural Ambassador of Sabhiacharak Satth Punjab after
winning the prestigious title. |

Dhuna from Moga were the captivating force which helped the Judges to
adjudge her First Runner Up unanimously. She danced to the tunes of
"Lathey Di Chadar Ute Saleti Rang Mahia", |
| Supporting sharp features and a broad smile Kuljinder
Khaira from Jalandhar was the second runner up. She performed her dance
sequence on the song, "Tuvi Julfan Di Chhaan Heth Nach Mahi
Ve". |
| Husky musical voice of Punjab and the heartthrob
of Punjabi generation Surinder Kaur was honoured with the title
of "Punjab-Di-Koyel", and her daughter famous singer Dolly Guleria made the evening memorable by her benign presence
and colorful performance. |
